WOMEN OF FAITH - OCTOBER 26-27, 2012

Sacramento, CA

Oct 26, 2012 to Oct 27, 2012

You’ve never seen Women of Faith like this before!
We all experience good times and bad days, triumphs and tragedies. But no matter what life throws at you, this is what matters: God loves YOU. (Always has. Always will.) You’re invited to be part of a very special celebration. Compelling stories, Bible-based teaching, world-class music, unstoppable inspiration, and a few surprises combine for an experience like no other. God loves you! And that means there is always a reason to celebrate.

Our soul waits for the LORD; He is our help and our shield. For our heart shall rejoice in Him, because we have trusted in His holy name. Psalm 33:20-21 NKJV

Cup of Life
What beautiful tea cups and what beautiful woman made in God’s image you are. God’s handiwork, fearfully and wonderfully made.

Look around at all the dainty, colorful and delicate cups which appear to be almost too fragile to use. Some may be more sturdy and strong, while others give the appearance of being flawless with no visible chips, cracks or imperfections.
Some may have obvious flaws that are visible to everyone. There are even those that have been shattered, only to have been carefully mended and now ready to use again.

Some are expensive and rare, others plain and practical. Others may be brand new and never used for the purpose that they were intended. Some have been used countless times and have many opportunities in the future.
Others claim they have served their time. Chipped and worn they would like to just sit on the shelf and be admired for their work.  But others want to be used until the very end, fearful they will be put aside and forgotten. Some are capable of holding much more than others.

With all of their many differences and similarities, all cups and saucers were designed for a common purpose – to serve (tea service).
I want you to look into your cup and think about your spiritual life journey. It can be a powerful teacher, an image for the process of your spiritual growth and a reminder of your spiritual thirst.

Your cup - You hold it, fill it, drink from it, empty it and wash it. You choose what you fill it with. Through my human choices my thirst for God can be quenched.
In my cup I can see life with its emptiness, fullness, brokenness, flaws and blessings. A cup is a container for holding something and whatever it holds has to be eventually emptied out, so something more can be put into it.

Our spiritual journey is a constant process of emptying and filling, of giving and receiving, of accepting and letting go.
I have learned that I have flaws, chips and stains, as any well used cup may have but the markings and imperfections need not prevent me from being a valuable gift to pour out to others.

The stains are a way to transformation, cleansing and forgiveness. God knows our weaknesses and failures. Sometimes we resist what God desires to pour into our cup of life. We can ignore or refuse to be open and receptive and the contents we put in may turn sour and stale rather than overflowing with God’s living water.
The contents are meant to refresh, nourish, warm and renew life. Might we be stirred up with a deep desire to cry out to our precious Lord.
